A bit of History.....
In 1991 the Cole Family had a vision to produce a range of premium wines which emphasised the unique characteristics of the region. The family have all worked hard to share this vision ever since.
Cambewarra Estate vineyard was planted on 20 acres of dairy land and was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of the Shoalhaven City Council in October 1994.
The Estate produces a limited quantity of premium wines with the entire wine making process, from the vines to the bottle, occurring on site.
With the recent introduction of some stunning new wines, a 160 person function centre, a full commercial kitchen, a boutique studio apartment and a lot of love, effort and passion, Louise and Gaz have developed Cambewarra Estate into a multi-faceted, unique winery that is the pride of Cambewarra.
The Estate baton has been handed over to the next generation, with Louise’s daughter Amanda and husband Brett partnering up with wine masters Gazza and Simon to continue our aspiration of being a much loved, must see and most importantly, tasted, destination on the Shoalhaven.
Throughout the years our wines have won a truck load of awards and trophies including the first National and Boutique trophy for the Shoalhaven. Our biggest thrill however came when we picked up three Silvers and a Gold at the Vienna Wine Show, the largest wine show in the world. We entered four wines, two vintages of Amanda Verdelho, a Simon Cab Sauv and the Gold medal winning, Louise Late Harvest Chardonnay.
There’s always something happening at Cambewarra and we look forward to welcoming you at the Cellar Door to tempt you with our finest drops soon.
And until then, always remember what Groucho Marx said …
“I shall drink no wine before it’s time! OK, it’s time.”
Cheers from the crew at Cambewarra.
